Safeguarding

At All Saints, we take safeguarding very seriously.

Our commitment

We are committed to the safeguarding, care and nurture of children, young people, and vulnerable adults and to providing and promoting a safe environment and culture for people of all ages in our Church community.

Accordingly, All Saints Church complies with the Church of England safeguarding policies and guidelines, and safeguarding is a standing agenda item at our PCC meetings. We also have an active Safeguarding Group which supports our Parish Safeguarding Officer, Stella Harding.

We follow the Church’s safer recruitment practices, and ensure that those whose responsibilities relate to children, young people, and vulnerable adults have DBS clearance and receive the necessary safeguarding training and support in their roles.

And, we will:

  • respond promptly and competently to every safeguarding concern or allegation, including where someone may be seen as presenting a risk to others
  • care pastorally for victims/survivors of abuse and other affected people.

What to do if you have a Safeguarding Concern

If there is a safeguarding concern, you should do the following.

  • If you have information about a safeguarding situation where a child or adult is in immediate danger or requires immediate medical attention, you should call emergency services on 999.
  • Where there is no apparent risk of immediate harm, but you have concerns, please contact Stella Harding, our Parish Safeguarding Officer or Fr Jeremy by email, in confidence, at safeguarding@allsaintsboynehill.org.uk, via the Parish Office on 01628 621933 or in person, as soon as possible.

All concerns will be investigated thoroughly and appropriate action taken in line with our Safeguarding Policy.
